Guided tour

About this experience

For one day, join a thriving not-for-profit that provides unique training and livelihood opportunities to disadvantaged youth and women in urban slums in Kenya. You’ll dive into the heart of an informal settlement, where the real Nairobi comes to life amid colourful street vendors, animals roaming the streets, and the most innovative forms of just getting by. LivelyHoods invites you to get street smart, accompanied by youth and women who have grown up in these communities and are now making a difference to them by distributing life-changing clean-energy products. We'll also show you some of the amazing visual and performing arts, and crafts that the young people trying to get by get involved in. LivelyHoods is a non-profit social enterprise, and in joining us on this social impact experience you'll be part of the impact! And you'll also directly support the organisation's training and community outreach work.

    Hello, we're LivelyHoods.

We have created a youth-powered sales network that trains and employs disadvantaged youth and women in Kenyan slums to distribute life-improving products in hard-to-reach slum markets. By offering training and job opportunities we provide unemployed youth and women with an opportunity to work their way out of poverty. At the same time, this door-to door distribution network of youth and women from slum communities brings clean-energy products that improve the health and quality of life in these same communities. LivelyHoods products also prevent harmful emissions, reducing deforestation and climate change.
